Driving through LA and into Hollywood, sunshine, traffic, palm trees, graffiti, tall buildings, it felt familiar. It also felt very different. We had never seen as many homeless people living in tents on the sides of the freeways, on sidewalks, in front of closed down businesses and buildings, in LA, as we saw that day.
JETCET was making a trip up to Hollywood to donate boxes of backpacks, duffel bags, sweatshirts, and masks to the Hollywood Food Coalition. When we arrived, all the volunteers were so grateful and kind. We were in awe of their gratitude and their dedication to helping the homeless and food insecure. We were hoping that we could help, even if just a little bit, that day.

About Hollywood Food Coalition
“The mission of the Hollywood Food Coalition is to feed and serve the immediate needs of the hungry every night of the year so they can build better lives.
We accomplish this through our consistent nightly Community Dinner, which feeds a hot, nutritious meal to the hungry and homeless 7 nights a week, 365 days a year, as we have done every night since 1987. We also help our clients access services such as housing navigation, medical services, and job placement, and we also provide additional basic needs such as clothing, shoes, backpacks, blankets, laundry tokens, sleeping bags, hygiene kits, and more.
Their vision is a city where everyone has food, community, and support.”
We hope our donation can make a difference in some lives and we look forward to giving more of our time and effort to this wonderful organization and others like it.

“It is in your hands, to make a better world for all who live in it.” – Nelson Mandela
